To our Blue Back Dental patients,
In accordance with the Connecticut State Dental Association’s resolution, and in support of Governor Lamont’s “Stay Safe, Stay Home” executive order, we are extending our temporary closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic until at least May 21st 2020. We are available to manage emergency dental needs only during this time. For any patients who have currently scheduled appointments between April 23rd and May 20th our front desk team will be reaching out to reschedule. Rescheduling will occur closer to our reopening date in order to avoid having to move appointments multiple times in case Governor Lamont extends the closures, distancing and safety measure guidelines further.
At Blue Back Dental we have always strictly adhered to all infection control guidelines and recommendations from the CDC. The Doctors have used this time away from the office to research and prepare for our return to our practice with additional infection control measures. Blue Back Dental has always been on the cutting edge of technology and cleanliness and will continue to be leaders in the area providing state of the art infection control and comfort measures to keep our patients and staff safe. As we approach our reopening date we will be relaying some details as to how your visits may be different with these additional measures in place.
As always, we are available should you have any questions. We are greatly looking forward to our reopening on May 21st unless modified, extended, or terminated by the Governor, and continuing your care. We will update you if any changes are made to these recommendations.
As a reminder, according to the American Dental Association, “Dental emergencies are potentially life threatening and require immediate treatment to stop ongoing tissue bleeding and alleviate severe pain or infection.” “Urgent dental care focuses on the management of conditions that require immediate attention to relieve severe pain and/or risk of infection and to alleviate the burden on hospital emergency departments.” The Doctors will evaluate each patient’s situation on a case by case basis to determine the appropriate management strategy and whether an appointment is needed. According to the Connecticut State Dental Association, not complying with these recommendations may be considered a violation of the ADA’s Principles of Ethics & Code of Professional Conduct.
