Tooth loss is no small thing, especially if you’ve lost most or all your teeth. Even a few missing teeth can affect how you look, eat, speak, and perceive yourself as an individual. That’s where natural-looking dental implants come in. Implants are today’s solution to missing teeth. They give you back the smile you lost when teeth went missing. If you live in or near Avon, Connecticut and West Hartford, Connecticut, you can turn to the doctors at Blue Back Dental for quality implant treatment.
The benefits of dental implants are many and varied. Here are just a few ways your life can improve with natural-looking implants:
Improved chewing is a major benefit of dental implants as it allows you to expand your culinary delights to include crunchy, crispy, and chewy food. Implant restorations are anchored in place by artificial tooth roots to keep them securely in place when you bite or chew. With implants, eating will be a joy! You’ll also get more nutritional value from your food.
Your teeth support your speech by helping you pronounce certain sounds and words. When they go missing, it can cause you to speak with a lisp or slur your words. Replacing lost teeth with implants allows you to speak clearly with confidence and ease.

When teeth go missing, your jawbone begins to shrink due to a lack of stimulation from tooth roots. This causes your facial features to sag or sink, giving you an aged, unhealthy look. Implants prevent bone loss by stimulating your jaw, just like real tooth roots. Getting implants allows you to retain facial support and a more youthful appearance.
Implant restorations closely resemble natural teeth to give you an authentic-looking smile. Anchored by artificial tooth roots, your new teeth will stay firmly in place when you talk, laugh or chew. You’ll be able to resume your normal lifestyle without feeling uncomfortable or embarrassed about your appearance.
Aesthetics is only one aspect of restoring your smile with implants. You’ll also enjoy improved oral health. Implants help prevent bone loss, decay, and gum disease. Replacing lost teeth with implants keeps your smile in alignment, restores your natural bite, and reduces stress on your jaw joints to prevent TMJ pain.
Caring for implants is no different from caring for natural teeth. Brushing twice daily, flossing daily, and regular visits to your Avon or West Hartford, Connecticut dentist for routine dental cleanings can help keep your new smile at its best for years.
Natural-looking dental implants allow you to enjoy all the benefits of having a full set of strong, healthy, functional teeth. They open the door to living a full, active, satisfying life.
