How the CEREC computer restoration system works:
Once your tooth has been prepared, it is scanned with an electronic camera that allows the image to be seen on a video screen. The restoration is then designed from this scanned image and is automatically milled out of a solid ceramic block. The result is a crown that accurately fits and will be bonded to the prepared tooth. That’s it!

Digital
X-Rays
We
have installed a new digital x-ray system called
CDR for Computed Dental Radiography. Here are the
benefits to a CDR system:
- Safer, because the computer sensor is very sensitive, the system can use a much lower amount of radiation. In fact, it uses 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays.
- Better, because the sensor sees things conventional film might miss. Plus, the CDR image can be magnified 300x its normal size and contrast can be adjusted to reveal things normal film might not see.
- Faster, because there is no development cycle, CDR images are available within seconds of being taken!
- Smarter, since the system avoids using hazardous chemicals it does not produce hazardous waste either.
Want to see what the dentist sees? With the Intraoral camera you can! This is a tiny digital camera that fits comfortably in your mouth and allows Dr. Molyneaus and Dr. Wu to show you an enlarged image on a computer screen. The tip of the wand (where the camera is located) is covered with a disposable plastic sheath that keeps the procedure sterile and comfortable. This not only allows you to see what is happening in your mouth, it also documents the findings by uploading the information to a computer.
